2016 Cycle 1 Week 5

Crossfit 46,




Well, we are less than 20 days away from The Open. For some people, the upcoming 5 weeks are the culmination of an entire year of training, and a chance to see where they stack up against the elite Crossfitters of their region. For others, it is a great opportunity to get in a good workout with a great community at the box. If you are on the fence of whether or not you should do the Open, my reccommendation is that you should. There are scaled and masters versions of every workout, and also opportunities to see where you stack up against people your own age, and level. The Open night is a great event for building community at the gym, and should be lots of fun. 

We are doing some "waves" in the strength work this week, but don't worry, there is nothing too crazy going on there. You might see something like 8,6,4,6,8 for a rep-scheme. The idea here is to go heavier on the second set of 6, and 8, since you were just dosed a heavier weight for your 4 rep, which will prime you for hitting more weight on the second set of reps. Have fun with these, and don't be afraid to push the weights, within the confines of good technique.
